Hi friends,

It's nice to introduce you new projects here. As you know I had too many things to do.

Within the Summer'09 I'll have new projects done. Most of them are related with guitars. I have ideas about new circuits and functions on guitars ans some relic works. Hope to have time for all of them.

Those projects are modification projects so i need high quality guitars. I'll be searching for them...

Mosfet Booster

This is a "clean booster" pedal. It boosts the input signal without clipping. It's really handy when you want to take your signal one step front. Don't forget that it's true bypass, so it's there or not. :) I used a heavy duty 3PDT switch to use LED.

It is realy easy to build, cause there's a small PCB, less components than common pedals, just a potentiometer and a switch.

The box was slightly etched with a special etchant. That's a %100 hand job. Don't miss that there's no masking with any material. You can think it as drawing... ;)

Before the etching, I had sanded the box. Sand papers were 280, 320, 500 and 1000c. You can use 1500 or 2000c for more glossy look. Sanding is a real dirt job, while sanding your hands are seen as charcoal!

Ev yapımı Boss DS-1 Keeley Seeing Eye & Ultra Mod

Bu bildiğiniz Boss DS-1 pedalının Robert Keeley (ünlü pedal üreticisi ve modifiyecisi) tarafından geliştirilmiş "Seeing Eye" ve "Ultra" modlarının uygulanmış hali. Birebir aynısı değil. Kullandığımız malzemeler farklı markalardan aynı değerler... Sadece 2 direnç Türkiye'de bulunmadığı için en yakın değerlerden seçildi. Bunun dışında kutu tasarımımız farklı.

Pedalın eski DS-1'le pek alakası yok. Video ton aralığını ve karakterini yeterince anlatıyor...

Pedalı anlatacak olursam, solda yan yüzde duran pot Tone potu, değişiklik olsun diye yana aldım. Onun yerinde Ultra modunun LED'i var. Onun altında TONE yazısının "O" harfinin yerinde SEM'in LED'i var. Level knobunda değişiklik yok. Onun üstünde pedalın devrede olup olmadığını gösteren mor renkli 5mm lik çok parlak LED var. Onun yanında drive potu var, saat 9'dan sonra çok ciddi logaritmik artış var, çok fazla drive veriyor o arada... Onun altında bir SEM VE Ultra mod arasında geçiş yapmanızı sağlayan anahtar var, üstteyken SEM, alttayken Ultra Mod açık.

Seeing Eye modu sürekli açık oluyor, eğer seçerseniz Ultra modu onun üzerinden çalışıyor. Videoyu izleyerek (özellikle pot hareketlerini) fikir edinebilirsiniz...

Modifikasyonun en zorlu kısımları eski elemanları sökmek ve yeni devreyi tekrar kutuya koymak (sığdırmak). Özellikle Boss pedallarla çalışmak da ayrıca zor... Çok fazla kablo, eleman, dar alan... Pedalın elinizde kalma ihtimali çok yüksek, bu yüzden ikinci el bir pedal alarak işe giriştim. Bazı yerlerini özellikle çizdim, eskittim... "Belki satarım" diye düşünerek fazla da abartmadım.

İlk kayıtta Cort Turkish Edition gitar kullandım. Sürekli Seymour Duncan Invader SH-8 köprü manyetiği açık. Amfi Trace Elliot Tramp, Vintage30 hoparlörden duyuyorsunuz sesi. Amfiden bir miktar reverb verdim. Ses ve görüntü kaydında Canon IXUS40 makine kullandım.

İkinci kaydı farklı ayarlarla yaptım. Gitar Washburn BT4. Kaydın ilk başında stok sap tek bobinlı manyetik var. Son 20 saniyede köprü Bill Lawrence L500XL var.

Boss DS-1 Truck Edition®

I'm sure most of you have ever owned the conventional distortion pedal Boss DS-1 Distortion.

It is orange, has classic chrome-top knobs which are triangular placed... You know it from miles away!

Let's improve it by sound & visual!

Project is called: Boss DS-1 Truck Edition®

For the tone you can apply Robert Keeley's Seeing Eye ve Ultra Mod. (I would...)

For visuals;

Your truck needs wheels. Just place your TONE & DIST knobs on the sides of the enclosure. There's enough space for this. Choose the same type knobs but with a bigger diameter.
You need headlights and flasher. Seeing Eye & Ultra mod's clipping LED's give your flasher. Place them on the front side.
Your SEM & Ultra switch is gear shift!
LEVEL knob will be the steering wheel. Just replace it what you find!
You need floor cover! Just cover the battery cap (the pedal) with non-slip aluminium plate.
Last thing is your interior light. It's of course your violet bypass LED. Sure it's redneck's choice...
